Jason Taylor Washington Redskins Pins Buttons Patches
Jason Taylor is a defensive end who is currently a free agent. He was originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He played college football at Akron. Taylor most recently played for the Washington Redskins. Taylor was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third Round (73rd pick overall) of the 1997 NFL Draft. Taylor signed a four-year deal worth approximately $1.3 million in July 1997. Since then, he has firmly established himself as one of the premier defensive ends in the league. He became a starter in his rookie season and recorded five sacks and forced two fumbles. On July 20, 2008, Taylor was traded to the Washington Redskins for a second-round pick in 2009 and a sixth-round pick in 2010. On March 2, 2009, Taylor, now 34, was released by the Washington Redskins for refusing to participate in off-season conditioning programs. His time with the Redskins was marked by generally poor performance and lingering injuries which prevented the former Pro-Bowler from contributing effectively.
